Since its establishment, the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN has been successfully cooperating with the Hungarian Association of the Deafblind from Budapest (Siketvakok Országos Egyesülete). In order to make the stories of people with deafblindness available in Hungarian and to stimulate interest among Hungarian friends in writing and telling stories, the Hungarian Association of the Deafblind translated the stories of people with deafblindness and published them individually in their monthly.
The book Stories of People Who Listen with Their Heart and See with their Palms: Living with Deafblindness, authored by people with deafblindness, has thus traveled part of the world. It is available in Slovenian, Serbian, English, Russian and Hungarian. It is also available in Braille, sound recording and Slovene sign language. It is our intention and desire that the friendship network of people with deafblindness continues around the world. Encouraging people with deafblindness, activating their inner strengths and strengthening their abilities is proving to be a necessity to achieve rights and change to improve their daily lives.
