Gašper Rems, who has been working with the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN for many years, is also involved in the project of translating stories from the Bible into sign language. This time he presented his work and the way he translates the Bible to DLAN members. He pointed out that translating stories from the Bible into sign language requires special attention to gestures, facial expressions and spatial expressions, in order to convey religious messages in a clear and understandable way. Respect for religious concepts and symbolism is also important, as these can make an important contribution to the understanding and experience of religious stories. The members followed with great interest and had many questions.
We would like to thank Gašper Rems for sharing his experience and knowledge.
