The 8th Social Work Congress took place on the 16th and 17th of November 2022 in Zreče. The Congress provided an opportunity for professional networking and strengthening of the community of social workers as well as connecting with related professions.
Dr. Simona Gerenčer, the general secretary of DLAN Association, also participated in the event, presenting a paper entitled The right to the language of the deafblind (Pravica do jezika gluhoslepih). She presented the path and development of the language of the deafblind in Slovenian context and emphasised its importance. At the same time, she pointed out that the language of the deafblind can only be developed together with people with deafblindness in the deafblind community.
