On Friday, October 15, 2021, on the day of the white cane, members of the Deaflblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, employees and volunteers participated in a full day excursion around Gorenjska organized by Mrs. Dunja Olga Bohorič.
First, under the guidance of a local guide, we visited Škofja Loka, the interior of the Šentjakob Church and learned many interesting things about the Škofja Loka Passion. We continued the excursion to the city of Kranj, where a friendly local guide was waiting for us. Together we walked past the Old Post Office, Prešeren’s house, across the Main Square to the famous church of St. Kancijan and Prešeren’s monument with Prešeren’s theater. Finally, in Adergas we visited the former Dominican monastery of Adergas with the parish church of the Mary’s Annunciation and the oldest Komenda linden, also called Turkish linden, which was planted in the 16th century.
The implementation of a very informative excursion was financially made possible by the Lions Club Ljubljana, and the organization was taken care of by Mrs. Dunja. We truly thank the Lions Club Ljubljana for all the support and help and outstanding cooperation. We would also like to thank Mrs. Dunja, who makes sure that people with deafblindness receive as much interesting information as possible and in this way enrich their world.
