Members of the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Kamnik and Strmol castle, nestled near Cerklje na Gorenjskem. First, we learned about the history of the former owners of Strmol castle, Rado and Ksenija Hribar. Following this enriching experience, we ventured into the town of Kamnik, where we were warmly welcomed by Dr. Zdenka Čebašek-Travnik and Dr. Ludvik Travnik, MD, an orthopedic specialist. Together, they guided us through the town center to the Rudolf Maister Museum, where the museum staff member provided invaluable insights into the life and legacy of this remarkable Slovenian figure, elucidating his profound impact on Slovenian history. We continued our journey to Samec’s Tunnel and then visited the Franciscan monastery, where we learned about its history and explored its interior under the guidance of a Franciscan friar.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to the sponsor of the trip, Lions Club Ljubljana – LIONS Slovenia, and to Mrs. Dunja Bohorič for organizing an outstanding excursion that enriches us with unforgettable experiences year after year. We also extend our sincerest thanks to all other participants for this opportunity and the memories we’ve created together. These moments will forever be cherished in our hearts.
