On Tuesday, 17 February 2021, representatives of The Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN attended the 3rd continuation of the 2nd session of the Constitutional Commission in the National Assembly regarding the entry of sign language into the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. Members of parliament discussed The Proposal to Initiate the Procedure for Supplementing II. Chapter of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia with the draft of Constitutional Act amending II. Chapter of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, (UZ62a), EPA 538 – VIII, and decided to pass an amendment of the expert group of the Constitutional Commission, which, in addition to Slovene sign language, also included a proposal to register sign language of members of the Italian and Hungarian national communities and the language of the deafblind.
