The Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN provides personal assistance in accordance with the Personal Assistance Act. We are pleased to announce that The Association DLAN has published a brochure on personal assistance for people with deafblindness. The brochure includes experiences of people with deafblindness that use personal assistance.
What all experiences have in common is that the quality of their lives has significantly improved during the time of inclusion in personal assistance. We are talking about the experience of being seen and heard, of being understood, involved, active, respected, worthy and important.
A personal assistant to a person with deafblindness is one who understands, accepts and respects the user. The assistant is his motivator, supporter, confidant, advisor, his companion, helper and his interpreter.
If you would like to receive more information about personal assistance for people with deafblindness or would like to receive a brochure by mail, we are happy to be at your disposal.
