At the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN , we organized a workshop on learning Braille and walking with the white-red cane, led by Timotej Skledar.
In the first part of the workshop, individuals with deafblindness practiced reading Braille lines. Through various exercises, they developed their ability to recognize Braille characters. The second part of the workshop focused on learning to walk with the white-red cane, which is specifically designed for individuals with deafblindness.
Under the expert guidance of Timotej Skledar, participants learned the correct technique for using the white-red cane, its role in orientation, and had the opportunity to practice walking along the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship. Each individual with deafblindness was accompanied by a personal assistant at every step.
The workshop was highly educational and interactive, as participants gained first-hand practical skills that will further support them in their daily lives.
