At the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, we marked Slovenia’s cultural holiday by celebrating Prešeren Day. The activity was led by expert worker Vlasta Hojan, who introduced us to the life and work of Slovenia’s greatest poet, with a special focus on his influence on Slovenian culture and language. The event was further enriched by our user, Marjana Kastrevec, who recited one of Prešeren’s works.
Through such activities, we strive to bring Slovenian cultural heritage closer to people with deafblindness and ensure them equal access to art. Language is the foundation of every society, as it connects people and enables development, which is why it is essential to strengthen the language of the deafblind and promote its broader use.
