Vlasta Hojan, a professional worker with the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, participated in a roundtable discussion entitled Ageism: The Challenge of Today, organised by the Ministry of Solidarity for the Future as part of the 23rd Festival for the Third Age.
The event was moderated by the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Aleš Kenda, who gave the panellists an opportunity to present the effective approaches they are implementing. Experts from various fields—education, institutional care, and healthcare—shared their experiences and examples of good practice.
The participants, extraordinary in their humanity, each conveyed the message that educating attitudes towards our fellow human beings is essential, as it helps reduce all forms of -isms, particularly ageism. This responsibility lies with every individual, as well as with government departments and civil society.
