At the Deafblind Association of Slovenia, DLAN, we had the opportunity to hear from the mother of a DLAN member about her experience walking the famous pilgrimage route El Camino de Santiago. She walked her first pilgrimage a few years ago on the French route, and this year she took a second route through Spain. In her lecture, she shared the beauty and challenges she encountered while walking these ancient routes and the people she met.

El Camino de Santiago has been a popular pilgrimage route for centuries, attracting people from all over the world. There are many reasons why people choose to follow this route. Some make the pilgrimage for religious reasons, seeking spiritual renewal and a deepening of their faith. Others seek a personal challenge to help them overcome their limits and find inner peace. Some simply want to experience the beautiful nature, cultural heritage, and meet people from around the globe.

Lectures on such unique experiences are of particular interest of the DLAN Association members. Not only do they provide insights into fascinating journeys, but they also highlight the Christian aspects of pilgrimage routes, further enriching their religious and cultural knowledge.
