Members of the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, together with personal assistants, employees and volunteers, went to the annual social rehabilitation camp, which this year took place from June 14 to June 16 at CŠOD Gorenje pri Zrečah.
On the first day we visited Žička kartuzija, explored the surroundings of the village of Gorenje, and in the evening listened to an interesting lecture and experiential workshop led by psychotherapist and hypnotherapist Leon Marc.
On the second day, we went for a long walk in the morning and took advantage of a beautiful sunny day, and then worked until lunch on development of the language of the deafblind. In the afternoon, we first had a quiz, we tried using ultrasound stick for people with deafblindness and we watched a firefighting competition with seven firefighters. In the evening, we also attended the firemen’s party, which took place in the immediate vicinity of the ČSOD.
On the last day, before going back home, some of us went to relax in Terme Zreče, while others walked around the lake and explored the surroundings of Zreče.
The social rehabilitation camp enables people with deafblindness to meet new people and things, while also gaining new experiences.
We sincerely thank all participants and employees and volunteers. Thanks also to all who contributed in any way to the success of the camp.
This year’s social rehabilitation camp for the deafblind is the 25th camp for the deafblind, which was organized and implemented by the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN.
