In April, the Regulation on Amendments and Additions to the Regulation on Additional Professional and Physical Assistance for Children with Special Needs (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No.88/13,108/21 and 46/23) was adopted, which introduces a number of changes in the field of work with children with deafblindness from kindergarten to secondary school, namely:
- the provision of additional professional support for up to three hours per week (adapted educational programme, exceptionally in the special education programme for children with multiple disabilities);
- the right to an interpreter: on the basis of a guidance decision, an interpreter is granted to children with deafblindness for a number of hours to be determined by the expert group preparing and evaluating the individualised programme;
- Funding: to be borne entirely by the State.
